Healthy Coconut, Cocoa and Date Balls

These little date bites are my absolute go-to. They are perfect for desserts, lunch boxes, tea-times or any time really. They’re that good – trust me! And, they’re sugar-free, gluten-free and super easy to make.



  • 15 dried, pitted dates
  • 1/2 cup of shredded coconut, plus 1/3 cup for rolling
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup sugar-free cocoa
  • 2 Tablespoons coconut flour
  • 1 Tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter (optional)


Cut the dates up into small pieces, you should get about 6 small pieces from one date. Put the diced dates into a bowl and let them soak in some water for 30 minute. Put just enough water to cover the bottom of the bowl. Once the 30 mins is up- add the rest of the ingredients into the bowl; use an electric mixer or food processor to mix all the ingedients together. You can add more shredded coconut here if you’re looking for an extra “coconutty” taste.

Once the mixture is firm, roll level teaspoons into balls and cover them in the rest of the shredded coconut. Pop them in the fridge and serve chilled!
